The Head of State said:

- If we are talking about transport corridors, today, of course, we see new transport arteries in the form of Nakhchivan.

- The creation of the Zangezur corridor, as you know, was our initiative. It has been our long-standing dream to connect the main part of Azerbaijan with Nakhchivan, which is its integral part. We have been confidently and skillfully moving towards this goal, we have been approaching it, and we have already approached it.

- Today, the Horadiz-Aghband highway is almost ready. There are a number of minor issues left. The construction of the railway is also progressing rapidly.

- As for the construction of the Nakhchivan railway, work is currently underway. On my instructions, the Ministry of Transport is engaged in this work. Azerbaijan Railways has begun construction work in the Ordubad direction, and the missing sections will be rebuilt.

- Simply put, the carrying capacity of the existing railway today is 1.5 million tons. For the initial stage, it is enough for this road, which is a branch of the Zangezur corridor and, in general, the East-West corridor, to start operating. But our desire is that at least 15 million tons of cargo should pass through this transport corridor.

- After the Zangezur corridor is opened, a second railway line will be opened from Azerbaijan to Iran. There is a railway from the Zangezur corridor to Nakhchivan and from the Julfa railway station to Iran. That is, this project can be implemented faster. The North-South transport corridor is directed to the Persian Gulf. From there, it can extend to Pakistan, which is close to that region. That is, this will be a very important transport project, and Nakhchivan is at the center of it.

- Of course, let's say 15 million tons, maybe more cargo passing through here will lead to a greater revival. More jobs will be created, economic activity will increase, and Nakhchivan, I can say, will become one of the indispensable transport centers.

- The transport problems of the city of Nakhchivan have been solved. Today, new electric buses were presented, and they will probably be put on the line tomorrow.
