Legal responsibility and social media ethics in the digital environment were discussed

Within the framework of the "Human Rights Month", on June 17, an event on the topic of "Legal responsibility and social media ethics in the digital environment" was held, jointly organized by the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and the Ministry of Justice of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

​Employees of both institutions and enterprises operating under their jurisdiction participated in the event. Speakers drew attention to the importance of protecting rights and obligations in the digital environment, the importance of proper use of social networks, and the issues of legal responsibility in this area.

 

​Deputy Director of the Nakhchivan Post and Telecommunications Center operating under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Huseyn Askerli, spoke on the topic of "Cybersecurity and social media culture in the digital society" and spoke about the prevention of cyber threats, the protection of personal data, and the rules of digital ethical behavior. In his speech, he emphasized that no matter how wide the opportunities the digital space opens up, every step taken in the virtual world leaves a trace and it is important to observe information hygiene in this area. Also, Huseyn Askerli, noting that cyberattacks are carried out using social engineering methods, called on citizens not to enter suspicious links and to be more careful when using digital resources.

​Elmar Valiyev, Chief of Staff of the Strategic Planning and Monitoring Department of the Ministry of Justice of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, spoke on the topic of “Legal responsibility in the digital era: social media use and violations of law” and provided information on the legal consequences of violations of law on social media, civil liability and the application of legislation in this area.

​The main goal of the event was to increase legal literacy on digital platforms, promote a culture of cybersecurity and strengthen awareness on social media ethics.
