October 9 – On the occasion of World Post Day, an event titled “From the Letter to the Digital World – the Path of Post” was held by “Nakhchivan Post and Telecommunications Center” LLC under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

First, the guests got acquainted with an exhibition consisting of photographs reflecting the history of post in Nakhchivan and postage stamps issued in different years.

At the event, Azer Mammadrahimov, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, acting as Minister, congratulated the employees on the occasion of World Post Day and emphasized the importance of postal services in the modern era. He noted the importance of adapting postal services to new requirements against the background of the development of digital technologies. Speaking about the initiative of village post offices to act as “Digital Knowledge and Skills Centers”, he especially emphasized the role of employees in this direction. Finally, he thanked the employees working in the postal sector for their work and wished them success.

In his speech, the director of the center, Huseyn Askerli, touched upon the history of postal communication in Azerbaijan and provided information on the organizational innovations implemented in the field in recent times and the results achieved. He noted that the unification of the three organizations into a single structure has allowed for the improvement of management, the efficient use of existing resources, and the improvement of service quality.

The director spoke about the work done to increase the professional training of employees, the expansion of digital services, and the development of telecommunications infrastructure. He also brought to attention new projects planned for implementation in the postal sector, including plans for the development of cargo services and the expansion of the range of services.

Then a video clip was shown. In the video clip, postal employees working in different regions of Nakhchivan spoke about their daily work.

At the event, Intigam Sadigov, a postal employee from the Leketagh village of Julfa region, and Nargiz Bagirli, the youngest employee of the team, shared their memories and thoughts.

Distinguished employees were awarded at the event.

The artistic part of the event featured performances by Honored Artist of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elchin Nagiyev and President's Prize winner Nijat Hasanov (violin). They were accompanied by Faig Abbaszadeh.
